The Matteotti Family Archive

Historical Photographic Restoration and Digital Preservation

From the Titta Family Photographic Collection (Titta Ruffo)

The Matteotti Family project concerns the digital restoration and archival preservation of a historical photographic nucleus originating from the Titta family archive, connected to Velia Titta, sister of the baritone Titta Ruffo, her children and the Matteotti family.

The images document an intimate and domestic dimension that intersects with the broader civic history of twentieth-century Italy. Among the materials are photographs linked to Giacomo Matteotti, observed within a private familial context rather than through institutional or public representation.

Norne Legacy acts as technical partner and cultural consultant, overseeing digital photographic restoration and contextual archival verification. The objective is to recover legibility, tonal stability and documentary coherencewhile preserving the private and testimonial character of the original images.

All interventions are conducted on digitized files, following a conservative methodology aligned with archival preservation standards.

Restoration begins with a message.
