DIGITAL RESTORATION OF HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPHS

Recovering visual documents with accuracy and respect.

Ph2-PrePh2-Post

Professional digital restoration of historical photographs, negatives and archival image collections

We restore already digitized photographic materials, including rare individual items such as glass plates, daguerreotypes and vintage prints, as well as structured archival collections affected by physical degradation or imperfect digitization.

Our photographic restoration workflow includes:

  • Physical damage correction: removal of scratches, tears, stains, mold marks, folds, surface deterioration and emulsion cracks.
  • Tonal and detail recovery: contrast reconstruction, exposure balancing, density correction and recovery of depth in faded blacks, highlights or color layers.
  • Non-destructive reconstruction: careful reintegration of missing or damaged areas without introducing arbitrary visual alterations.
  • AI-assisted colorization (optional): available for curated educational or exhibition purposes, applied with methodological transparency and full respect for the documentary nature of the original image.

Each intervention is calibrated to preserve the historical authenticity, material characteristics and documentary value of the photograph.

This service is intended for photographic archives, museums, cultural institutions, foundations and rights holders seeking professional restoration aligned with archival preservation and long-term digital access standards.
